John George regularly advises closely held businesses and their owners throughout the business lifecycle, from start-up to exit strategy. He has developed a broad business, tax, and transactional practice with an emphasis on business and individual tax planning, mergers & acquisitions, securities, corporate governance, and estate and wealth transfer planning. John George has developed a particular focus in working on complex transactions and dealing with regulated industries. In addition, he has experience working in specialized areas such as private equity, captive insurance, and nonprofit organizations.

He earned a B.S. in Economics, graduating cum laude, from Auburn University, followed by a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Mississippi, where he graduated summa cum laude. He also holds an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University, where he served as a graduate editor of the Tax Law Review. This strong academic foundation and his deep experience allow him to effectively collaborate with clients and their teams of accounting, financial, and other professional advisors.
